How to Support COREchella
Sponsor
Our wonderful Cleveland Humanities Magnet families and community members play a critical role in helping the CORE program survive and thrive, and WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are asking all Magnet parents and guardians, as well as friends, family, and businesses that you work for or patronize to consider SPONSORING the program and COREchella.
Your contributions will be prominently acknowledged and displayed at the event. 100% of your donation DIRECTLY benefits our students and is tax deductible.
Silent Auction
The Silent Auction is an essential part of our fundraising efforts, and in order for it to be successful, WE NEED YOUR HELP! As a valued business partner, anything that you would be willing to donate would go a long way in helping us reach our financial goals for this year! 100% of your donation DIRECTLY benefits Cleveland students and is tax deductible.
Contributions will be promoted on our event website and prominently displayed at the event. This year we are excited to utilize the online platform, Bidding Owl, to share auction items and to process transactions. The site will be shared with the community prior to the event and on the day of the event.
Cafe Donation
An essential part of the success of the COREchella Cafe is receiving donations from the CORE Community. Stay tuned for a sign-up link to purchase food and beverage items to donate to the Cafe. If you have any connections to food and beverage companies that will make donations to the Cafe (ie: donut shops, bagel shops, snacks, beverages, grocery stores) please let us know. If you have any further questions about the Cafe, please email chmpa@corebaby.org. Thank you!
About Corechella
Fed up with years of budget cuts that threatened to devastate one of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s most successful high school programs, a group of dedicated students from Cleveland Humanities Magnet first came together in 2010 in the hopes of raising awareness about the budget shortfalls that were ravaging education. With the support of then Magnet Coordinator, Gabriel Lemmon, these students conceived of and planned the inaugural COREchella, where sixteen student bands performed for five hours for more than 700 students and their families. Hosted by actor Rainn Wilson, COREchella was a huge success; not only did the student-run event raise more than $16,000 for the program, the students’ message was heard loud and clear by members of the community who attended the concert as well as by those who saw news coverage by major media outlets.
Not willing to be silenced, Cleveland Humanities Magnet students continue to come together year after year to raise the noise level about the importance of preserving this award-winning Magnet program amidst the budget challenges that continue to plague public education. With two stages, a line-up that includes over 20 student solo performers and bands, and even a couple teacher bands, COREchella turns fundraising into fundraising, and now boasts attendance of over 1500 people, and even has been featured on the Jay Leno show. In addition to great entertainment, COREchella features a food truck festival, a silent auction, and an opportunity drawing. When it comes to efforts to increase both visibility and funds to support a cause Cleveland Humanities Magnet students believe in, COREchella truly raises the bar. Get ready to be rocked to the CORE!
